Edoardo Amaldi received a Diplôme in Mathematical Engineering and a Doctoratès Science (Ph.D.) from the Swiss
Federal Institute of Technology at Lausanne (EPFL). After three years at the School of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, Cornell University, USA, he joined in 1998 the Dipartimento di Elettronica e Informazione, Politecnico di Milano, Italy, where he is currently an Associate Professor in Operations Research. His main research interests include discrete optimization and algorithm design with applications in telecommunications, image processing and machine learning.
