 | We had many visitors this year.
Lucia's sister Ana Lucia and her then fiancee Paulo Roberto spent the first week of the year with us.
Ricardo
Silva, from Lavras, Brazil, continued his post-doc with Mauricio. He
and his wife Flavia have been in New Jersey since June of 2008. They
will return to Brazil in early 2010.
Celso Ribeiro, from Rio de Janeiro, came to New Jersey for 10 days in March to work with Mauricio.
Geraldo Veiga, from Rio de Janeiro, came to New Jersey in June for three weeks. The main onjective of his trip was to attend Alec's high school graduation. |  |

brother, Marcio, from Fortaleza, Brazil, spent a week with us in May.
He got to see Alec play soccer and visited the NYU music department,
where he was a PhD student in the late 1980s and early 1990s. |  |

| Mila and Rafael Martí, from Valencia, Spain, visited
us in September and cooked us a delicious paella. |  | Luciana
Carone, Mauricio's niece, from Curituba, Brazil, visited for a day in
July. Unfortunately, Mauricio was in Europe at the time. Alec took
her and her friends for a day of wild rides at Six Flags Great
Adventure. |

Abraham Duarte, from Madrid,
visited for a week in September to work with Mauricio. He brought with
him Sasha's last suitcase which she had left in Madrid in May. |

Sônia Borba, Lucia's cousin from Rio de Janeiro, spent the last week of the year with us.
