 | In
January she moved to Madrid where she spent a semester studying at U.
Complutense. She was housed with a family (mother and 15-year-old
daugther) about 30 minutes by subway from the university. Sasha did the
IES Madrid semester abroad program.
In
March, Mauricio went to work with a colleague in Porto and on his
way to Porto stopped in Madrid to spend 2 days with Sasha. They
visited the royal palace, the Reina Sofia Museum, and the Prado. Mauricio took Sasha to eat tapas at La Casa del Abuelo,
a place recommended by our NJ friend Beto Avritzer. On the last
night there, Mauricio and Sasha went out for tapas with friend Abraham
Duarte and his wife Maria Gazapo, both from Madrid.

 | While in Europe, she travel to a bunch of
interesting places, including Morocco, Dublin (Ireland), Paris, Prague,
Amsterdam, and all over Spain.
In Spain, besides Madrid, Sasha visited Cueta, San Sebastian, Toledo, Segovia, Córdoba, Salamanca, Cadiz, Barcelona, and Valencia.
Sasha
returned to New Jersey in late May. Mauricio and Alec were at the
airport to welcome her back home. Lucia couldn't be there because
she was in Brazil at her sister's wedding.

 | During her stay in Europe, she
learned that she had been accepted to Time Inc.'s Editorial Internship
in the summer. She returned to the U.S. in late May and in early June
started her intership, working at People Magazine. Here are two articles Sasha wrote at People. During her
internship, she lived with fellow interns in an apartment at Columbia
University. Sasha's intership ended in early August and she spent the last month of summer in Holmdel.
Mauricio
and Lucia drove Sasha to Ann Arbor in late August to help her move her
things from the storage where they had been during her stay in Spain to
her the house she shares with four students.
On the way to Ann Arbor, Sasha, Lucia, and Mauricio spent two days in Pittsburgh visiting Alec.

 | In September, Sasha started her senior (last) year
at The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She will graduate
with and B.A. in Political Science in May 2010. |  |

 | In the Fall, Sasha continued writing for the The Michigan Daily. She also worked at the University Center for the Development of Language and Literacy in Ann Arbor, MI.
Sasha went to most of the Michigan's home football games in the fall. Unfortunately, it was not a good year for Michigan Football.
While
doing her summer intenship in New York during the summer, Sasha met
Jason, a grad student at Michigan. They have been frequently seen
together since. In December, Sasha visited Jason's parents in
Philadelphia and Jason visited Sasha's in Holmdel. |  |

| Sasha came home in November for Thanksgiving and in December for her two-week winter break.
She turned 22 on December 31st. |
